Update to Intention of Love

Mama, Hallie and I went out Saturday and had a fun-filled day, with laughter, silliness and lots of love!  We went to see Into the Woods (I don’t recommend), then to eat lunch.  Olive Garden was packed due to the Blues Marathon thingy going on, so we went further away from town and ate at Applebee’s.  Good call.  Got groceries and coffee and came home.  We enjoyed each other so much.  We were silly and talked and laughed.  I’m sure we were acting crazy in the grocery store.  I was smooching on them.  Hallie was smooching on us.  Mama tried to walk further ahead as to fool the public into not mistaking her for being with us.  LOL!

I smiled at strangers more.  A little girl in the restaurant was looking over at me and Hallie and I smiled and waved at her.  She smiled and waved back.  I tried to stay mindful and present at all times.  I did at one point catch the three of us on our cell phones during lunch for which I immediately put my phone down and apologized.  Then they did the same.  Ah, old habits.  When we were driving through Seattle Drip to snag our favorite beverages, Mama handed me some money to give to the Barista toward the next person’s order, which inspired me to do the same.  Felt soooo stinkin’ good!  I’m only telling you this in hopes it will inspire you with some ideas of spreading love and kindness in your neck of the woods.  Sometimes, even when you don’t have much money, giving $5 or $10 toward helping someone else out and putting a smile on their face — well, it’s worth so much more than that mere $5 or $10.  It makes your heart leap and fills you with joy.  And you don’t even have to be around to know you created some smiles and warmed someone’s heart and perhaps inspired them to do the same.

Anywho, needless to say, this was a wonderful day, especially starting with the intention of being loving and mindful and present.  I hope this can inspire you to set an intention that will not only fill you up with joy but overflow and spill out and onto everyone around you.  You have much to offer, much to give.  All you need to do is set that intention and be mindful throughout the day of your intention and stir it up.

Please leave a comment and let me know what intention you’re setting today.  I know that all of us can benefit from your ideas and your stories.  Who knows?  You just might inspire someone.

Join in and Pay It Forward Initiative

After all the recent terrible tragedies that have happened and are happening, this world needs as much kindness as it can get. I’m participating in the ‘Pay it Forward’ initiative: The first five people who comment on this post (actually 4 spots left) with “I’m in” will receive a surprise from me at some point during the next calendar year – anything from a book, a ticket, something homemade, a postcard, absolutely any surprise! There will be no warning and it will happen when the mood comes over me and I find something that I believe would suit you and make you happy.

These five people must make the same offer on their Facebook status or Blog Post or Twitter. Once my first five have commented “I’m in” and I’ve messaged you back, you can copy and paste it, and put it on your status so that we can form a web of connection of kindness. Let’s do more nice and loving things in 2015, without any reason other than to make each other smile and show that we think of each other. Here’s to an enjoyable, friendly and love filled year! God bless you all!

Part 2 of Random Acts of Kindness/Pay It Forward/Pass it On Club Thingy

pass it onOkay, I need a name for this.  Gonna start a new blog for it so it will have it’s own space.  Once I have some extra moola, I may get a separate website for it altogether, but for now, while it’s a baby, it’ll start off with just a separate blog page.

So, I did about one minute of research and know that “Random Acts of Kindness,” and “Pay It Forward” are taken.  I don’t see much of anything for “Pass It On,” so what do you think of this for a name?  Any ideas?  Do you like it?  Do you have any other ideas?

Who wishes to participate?  If you wish to participate, please let me know all your ideas so we can started with this thing.

Ideas to help others:

1.  Volunteer at a soup kitchen, shelter, food pantry or community closet.

2.  When the season is right, volunteer to mow an elder person’s yard for them.

3.  Form a community walk at certain times during the week so others can join and not walk alone – see if you can put a free ad in your local newspaper to let them know.

4.  Bake a casserole for someone you know is sick or elderly or lost their job or depressed.  If you don’t know of anyone, you can call local churches and ask about those people.

5.  Volunteer at a hospital, or children’s hospital.  You can talk to people, read to them, play your guitar for them and perhaps bring an item for them (if it’s okay by the nurse for them to have it.)  You can also rock babies, sing to them, touch them.  Just holding someone’s hand or gently caressing their arm or face is so healing.

6.  Buy a burger for a homeless person.

7.  When you’re buying your coffee, give the cashier $10 and ask that it be used for the next people who order.

8.  When you see someone that you know could use your help and it might only take 5-10 minutes out of your day, help them.

Please forward any and all ideas!!  Thanks!!!

I’m thinking of starting a Random Acts of Kindness/Pass it On Club bloggy thing.  A club that’s filled with like-minded folks that want to be love and send love out into the world, helping others while helping ourselves, because when you help others, it heals your heart.  Each kind thing we do for another is healing for us.  We are healed by healing others.

This would be open for all people to read as well as post, whether you are a blogger or not.  All you have to have is an idea that might help another.  Not sure how to open it for all to post on their own so until I figure that out, I guess I’d set those up as guest posts but you’d not be considered a guest, you’d be considered a member of the team, just like me.  I’ll just consider myself a member and moderator since I won’t allow mean people to post (since we know there is a lot of ugly out there).

Maybe I’m rambling.  Maybe I’m a dreamer and completely unrealistic and my brain is still living in Kindergarten but how many of you out there would join me on my quest?

We could post ideas of how to help others.  We could post what we did to help another just so it might inspire another to do the same or spark an idea of what they could do.  Any ideas?  Thoughts?  Help?  Names?
