A Poetry – Mission Statement Exercise

Emerson had a great recipe/definition of success, don’t you think?  What would be your poem, or sort of a mission statement for success, if you were writing it for yourself and for your life and no one else’s expectation mattered?

Here’s mine:

To belly laugh and kiss loved ones, even in public, to pass on joy to strangers
To show up for those I hold dear and to have helping hands to those in need
To listen to the hearts of others, share in their joy, tears and fears, and not judge them
To seek out beauty every day, to find the good in every person
To learn and teach daily, as my child teaches me, about living, forgiving and loving
To make a positive difference in the life of another
This is to have succeeded

I'm a person just like you who wants to find ways to better my life - not to just better myself, but to become extraordinary and to love my life.
