“It’s okay to disagree with the thoughts or opinions expressed by other people. That doesn’t give you the right to deny any sense they might make. Nor does it give you a right to accuse someone of poorly expressing their beliefs just because you don’t like what they are saying. Learn to recognize good writing when you read it, even if it means overcoming your pride and opening your mind beyond what is comfortable.”

Totally! There is one particular prize-winning author (who will remain unnamed) who put down another prize-winning author simply because he (and his high and mighty self) didn’t think she could write, although she is also a prize-winning author who has a series of (prize-winning) movies out based on her books. It’s one thing to have an opinion. It’s another to publicly announce it and put that negative energy out there for all in the world to witness. So, I say boo to you who do that. We should lift each other up in our endeavors and accomplishments. No one person is so great at a craft or anything else they do to belittle someone else at their craft and anything else they do. Let us just stick to the tried and true — if ya ain’t got nothin’ nice to say, zip your lips. Okay. I feel better. Had to say it. I feel better now. Yes, my rant is over.
