Sorry to cut this one short. Busy day and night. Will do more tomorrow. At least we did one chapter. Keep on keeping on…
Elihu is speaking to Job and to his friends in this chapter. He is questioning the fact that Job is questioning God and that it is wicked, selfish and accusing. Job has been thinking of himself and what profit he receives by not sinning. He’s not thinking of God in this. He’s thinking of himself. He claims to be just, to be an upright sinless man but then he condemns God by questioning what he gets out of being good and not sinning. “What do I get out of it?” rather than trying to please God, which is what he should have been about if he’s claiming to be sinless.
God pays no attention to the arrogance of the wicked. He does not listen to their empty plea.
And on that note, I hope you all have a Happy Valentine’s Day and wonderful weekend.
