Awesome orange on orange Zinnias (looks good enough to eat!)
Life isn’t worth living if you cannot take in the beauty of all the senses God has blessed you with.
If you have sight, see beauty, even in the wrinkles.
If you have sense of sound, listen to great music, the old, the new, the innocence of a child’s laughter.
With a sense of smell, take in the fragrance of every flower, a freshly opened canister of coffee, a spring rain, the aroma of bacon frying, the freshness of just cut grass, the sweet skin of your precious baby. (And if you lack a sense of smell, which I do the majority of the time, just be glad in the fact that you can breathe, and that your other senses may be stronger.) 😉
Taste the steamed milk in that freshly brewed Breve Latte, warm apple pie with Gruyère baked into the crust, and savor every nuance and every flavor in all of your favorite treats.
Touch cashmere, silk. Wear 100% cotton. Sleep nude on flannel sheets in winter. Snuggle up in a fleece blanket. Hold the hand of someone you love. Hug your mom. Tickle your baby. Embrace your lover. Dance alone to the music in your head.
Find your intuition. Use it. Listen to your heart, as well as your mind. Hear not only the words of others with your ears, but learn to listen with your heart.
Even if you are sick, are dealing with loss, depressed, lonely, feeling lost, resolve yourself to seeking out one beautiful thing in or about your day, every single day. Beauty is always waiting there, placed for your enjoyment. And if all else fails, do a silly dance while you do everything, until you can’t help but laugh, even if it helps you to cry. These are the greatest releases.
