My plan with this particular blog was to post at least one picture per day, every day for a full year. Yup, a photography blog. I did that, starting from December 2011 through December 31, 2012. And for someone who usually sucks at follow-thru, I did well.
I’m Carol and a Mississippi girl, with part of my heart up north where there’s zero humidity and lots o’ rocks to climb/scramble and trails to hike; more of a possibility of snow in the winter. Skiing… But Home for me is wherever my mom and daughter are. As long as we’re together, I’m Home. ;)
I’m a roaming photographer in search of new experiences, new sights, new vision. Toting around my Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX2 (not a bad quality digital camera for the inexpensive price), and dreaming of one day owning a Canon EOS 5D Mark II 21.1MP Digital Camera.
More so, I’m a writer, and have been since I learned how to write. Before that, I was a storyteller. I would set my dolls and stuffed animals in front of me and I would make up stories to tell them. I’ve always had a very lively and colorful imagination, and I would get in trouble for years at school because of it. I constantly daydreamed during class as I lived in my own make believe dream world (my means of escape) full of fantastical creatures and the main times I was “present” in the room was when I imagined myself flying through it, laughing, while pushing everyone’s textbooks off their desks onto the floor.
I’m a seeker. Always looking for my purposes.
I had planned to read and study the Bible in 365 days and blog daily on what we read/studied. We started on Feb 1 and then life got in the way. I started back but the plan will go longer than a year, which is fine. The point is to read the Book, study it, and blog about it. Structured and organized religion is not for me. I’d gone to church for years and find that with every denomination, there are aspects that I do not agree with and those things do not go along with what the Bible says. People/preachers have a way of distorting the truth, twisting it and leaving much of the truth out. So, I figured a better way for me to know God and Jesus and how They think is to not trust in others to teach it to me but to read and study it for myself. I will eventually get back to this but for now, my heart is in the midst of finishing this current book I’ve been working on since November.
It was the first book in a series. I had started books 1 and 2 and then had a dream which led to a new beginning, so a different book 1 but honestly feel it should come later after books 1, 2 and 3, sort of like the movie “The Hobbit” came out years after “Lord of the Rings” trilogy. It’s the back story before the story.
I blog on a variety of topics. Just a few are: Creative writing, Nanowrimo, Camp Nanowrimo, the Bible/God/Jesus, cooking, baking, road trips/travel, my family, our silly furballs, living in the countryside, and life in general.
