About

My plan with this particular blog was to post at least one picture per day, every day for a full year.  Yup, a photography blog.  I did that, starting from December 2011 through December 31, 2012.  And for someone who usually sucks at follow-thru, I did good.

And now, for 2013, I’m changing the blog to once a week format, still with a photo, but reflecting something from that particular week.  It’s also going to go along with my 101 Things in 1001 Days list, which I’ll be updating every week.

As for the future, I see my blog changing a bit.  Not quite sure how as of yet, but I feel I’m changing quite a bit, and I feel my blog needs to reflect that.

I’m Carol and a Mississippi girl, with part of my heart up north where there’s zero humidity and lots o’ rocks to climb/scramble and trails to hike.  More of a possibility of snow in the winter.  Skiing…  But Home for me is wherever my mom and daughter are.  As long as we’re together, I’m Home.  ;)

I’m the mom of the world’s most awesome daughter, and I’m a roaming photographer in search of new experiences, new sights, new vision.

Toting around my Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX2 (not a bad quality digital camera for the inexpensive price), and dreaming of one day owning a Canon EOS 5D Mark II 21.1MP Digital Camera.  One day….  Soon!

I’m a seeker.  Always looking for my purposes.  Oh, I’ve found some of ‘em and some of yours, too.  I know we are all here to love (forgiveness goes along with that), to learn, and to teach.  Another purpose of mine is to be a mother to my awesome kiddo.  I am always trying to improve my parenting skills.  There are daily lessons and tests.  Trust me!  Much to learn, and I’ll learn till I’m dead, I’m sure.  Other purposes?  Not sure, but lookin’ for ‘em.  I want to make a difference, as I’m sure everyone does.  What will my impact on this planet be?  What legacy will I leave for my daughter and future generations?  These are things I ponder on a daily basis.  How can I serve others?  I want to help so many.  I am praying and expecting miracles.  Miracles happen every day, you know?  There are blessings everywhere, and I am definitely blessed.  Thank You, Father!  And thank You, Jesus!

It’s amazing what you can see looking through the eyes of another.  When you are not certain where your place is in this world, or you can find no meaning nor purpose, try adjusting your focus.  You can find beauty there.  You do have many purposes (see above), and then some.  Sometimes all you need to do is be still, be quiet, and just be.  This should actually be a daily practice for everyone.  A time to meditate, be still, be quiet, and God will find you in that place.  Even if you only have 10-15 minutes to spare, per day.
