When I saw the theme for the week, it made me think of a photo I took last week and one of my favorite poems: The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair, And having perhaps the better claim, Because it was grassy and wanted wear; Though as for that the passing there Had worn them really about the same, And both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black. Oh, I kept the first for another day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way, I doubted if I should ever come back. I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-- I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.
This is not two roads nor is it in a yellow wood. It’s pretty well worn, having been traveled many times per day by many a car. To me, the road is more of a symbol. It is a path to an unknown future. It transports you to places unseen, unaware, and just the thought of the adventure is wonderfully mysterious and exciting. It’s not always about where you’re goin’. I do love traveling, but, to me, it’s about who I’m traveling with, the time we spend together and the journey on the way to wherever it is we’re going. I hope whatever road you’re traveling, you have a wonderous journey on your way there, with people you love, and when you get to wherever you want to be, that’s it’s even more beautiful than you could have ever anticipated or imagined.
