Weekly Photo Challenge: Arranged

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Yeah, ok, so we made some Devil’s Food cupcakes (regular and mini-sized) with milk chocolate frosting made with real Hershey’s Dutch Cocoa.  And this was before I knew that the challenge was “arranged”, so this works out rather nicely, doesn’t it?  We can enjoy our cupcakes and I have a subject for the challenge.

As you can see, Hallie wanted to make use of just about every type of sprinkle we had.  I left the pearls and silver dragees in the cupboard, because she can’t really eat those while she’s wearing braces.  :(  But we used everything else except for the special Christmas sugars and the orange sugar flakes.  She used the black sugar flakes.  We usually only use those at Halloween.  ;)

I think next time we make cupcakes, it’ll be this nice moist lemon cupcake recipe with lemon kissed buttercream frosting.  Yummmmm!  My mouth is watering for it already.  Mmmmm…

Hope y’all had a delicious Saturday and have a peaceful evening.  We are just about off to bed.  No sleepin’ late tomorrow.  ;)  *big squishy hug*

Day 91 of my Project 366.  Yee-ha!  ;D

Photo Friday: Fleeting

Time is fleeting.  Sooooo fast, that my days run together.  Weeks and even years pass and I wonder what happened, how did I get this old, how is my baby twelve years old when she was two in what seemed like just a year or two ago.  I can honestly say I HATE how fast time is fleeting, because I feel I’m missing out on my daughter’s life, and she’s my whole purpose.  All I ever wanted was to be her mother.

I am very appreciative of the year I had with her when I was laid off work.  There were pros and cons to being laid off, but I choose to focus on the positive.  I could pick her up from school every day and have that extra time after school and in the evenings to dance around the house to crazy music, play hide and seek, bake cookies and cupcakes together, and just belly laugh with her.

Now that I’m working, I can’t do all those things (not every day) and I knew that I’d miss her, but there is a neverending ache deep down in my heart.  She misses me, too, and that makes my heart ache even more.  I am happy to be earning money.  However, if I could work from home doing just about anything, I’d much rather do that and be with her more.  That being said, I’m not complaining (much) about working.  I’m glad to be able to pay our bills and afford a few extras now, like going to the movies and eating out, and I do actually like my job, as far as jobs go.  I guess I just want the best of both worlds.  Who doesn’t, right?

I hate that when I blink one more time, she’ll be grown and off to college.  Time really is fleeting.  ;’(

Hope y’all had a groovilicious day.  I’m going to go enjoy the rest of the evening with my sweet girl.  Yay!  No other place I’d rather be than with my leeetle squishy.  Well, I can’t really say “leeetle” anymore.  She’s almost as tall as I am = 5’11″.  She’s catchin’ up fast!  *sniff*

Love you guys!  *smooch and a hug*

Blue and Green

Simple, I know, but I love the green leaves against the gorgeous blue sky.  Gives me an idea.  I need to take shots of flowering trees with the sky shining through as the background.  Ahhhhh.  Like a beautiful dogwood or crabapple or pear.  Any flowering tree will do.

Short and sweet, but only have a minute.  Hope y’all had a lovely day and have a restful evening.  Sleep tight.  *hug*

Well, I had been snappin’ some shots of the branches outside the southwest end of the house.  The sun was beaming through perfectly, so I snapped a couple o’ shots and here’s one of ‘em.  I think the leaves of green play nicely with the blueness of the sky, and the light shines through beautifully, lighting everything up.

Hope y’all had a lovely day.  I’m gonna go snuggle with a couple o’ my babes (Hallie and Lilly) on the couch while we finish watching Cupcake Wars.  I gotta get on the Food Network and see if any of those recipes are listed, ’cause they look and sound FINE!  I foresee some cupcake baking endeavors in my very near future.  I love to bake.  ;)  And Hallie LOVES cupcakes.  Hopefully, they will be d’lish.  I’ll let ya know.

Have a wonderful, peaceful evening and I’ll chat with y’all tomorrow.  *hug*

This marks the 86th day of my Project 366.  ;)

Photo Friday: Rain

Well, isn’t that convenient?  Just a few days ago, I was snappin’ pics of the rain, so here is my entry for the week.

How wonderful Hunger Games was at the movie theatre today!  Hallie’s reading the book, and, of course, the book always has more details that the movie would ever have time to show, but still, the movie was completely awesome!  I wonder if they’ll come out with the movies for Book 2 & 3?  After she finishes Book 1, I’m readin’ it!  When I have time…  Time?  What’s that?  No, really, not complaining too much of not having time.  We had a little time this weekend.  It was a very enjoyable weekend.  Got the yards mowed.  Got clothes washed, part of the house clean, a few groceries bought, went to the movies with good friends, and cooked some yummy things.

Spent some time with my 2 best girls, and ya know, that’s the bestest part.  ;)  Mama is healing up after 3 surgeries to her shoulder, hand and wrist, poor baby.  It’s takin’ a little while.  I hate all the pain she’s in.  :’(  If y’all don’t mind sayin’ some prayers for her to heal up fast and be pain-free, I know we’d all appreciate it.  You can never receive too many prayers.  And just know that I’m always thinkin’ of y’all, and you guys are in my prayers every day.  ;)  *squishy hug & a smooch*

Love y’all!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Through

Arches National Park in Utah.

Hope y’all had a beautiful day!

Short and sweet today, folks. Workin’ out in yard, mowing, trimming, getting muddy and sunburned, cleaning the house, checkin’ up with a few friends, and more friends tomorrow after the movies, and maybe before, too. Can’t wait for the movie!!! AAAAAAAAAKKKK!

Love y’all! *hug* ;)

Day 84 of my Project 366.

Cowboy Up!

Welcome to one of Hallie’s favorite things of all time = HORSES! She’s all about Family, Taylor Swift (the only person she has ever been a fan of, and rightly so), Paris, France, anything animal-related, and her favorite 4-legged friends are horses. Ever since she was 2, the child has loved them. Ever since the movie, ‘Spirit’. Remember that animated film with all the great music from Bryan Adams? That dude rocks!

Anyway, she’s truly been missing riding. I had to cut everything out of our budget that was an “extra”, but now that I’m working again, SURPRISE! Riding lessons again. Yea! She’s so excited. And I’m so blessed I can provide them for her.

Check out these handsome school horses. Sophie was her favorite, pictured with my cutie patootie in the last pic.

Today was a great day. Not a lot of stress at work, nothing quit workin’ like the software/hardware that was freakin’ out on me before, didn’t have to rush, just go at my own pace, so it was a fabulous Friday. How ’bout you? Isn’t every Friday fab?

Looking forward to tomorrow when I get a chance to sleep in, clean my house, mow the yard, wash clothes, cook, catch up with my peeps’ blogs. Some of that may sound like work, but to me, it sounds marvelous. ;) Every bit of it.

Hmmm… Cinnamon rolls for breakfast. Not sure what’s for lunch – something simple. Grilled turkey and cheese, perhaps. Maybe a panini. What’s on the menu for supper? Chicken Alfredo, Salad, maybe asparagus as another side? Garlic Bread, Skim Milk, with Cherry Cheesecake for dessert. Yummm! That’s one of Hallie’s and Mama’s favorites.

Talk with y’all tomorrow. Love ya!
Sweet dreams. Me sleeeeeepy. Night-night.

*hug*
